Famous superstar Allu Arjun was held responsible for the death of a women in stampede during Pushpa 2  premier at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre, RTC Crossroad on 4 Dec. On Dec 13, he was taken into custody by Chikadpally Police, Hyderabad for questioning. According to the reports, he was arrested from his residence in Jubilee Hills, early on Friday morning for his connection to the life lost in a stampede during the ‘Pushpa 2’ premiere.

 

The actor filed an appeal seeking to delay his arrest till Monday which was denied by a lower court and was ordered to held in custody for 14 days. Telangana High Court later overruled this order stating “Saying that he is an actor, he cannot be deprived of his right. As a citizen of this earth, he too has the right to life and liberty.”

Mr. Bhaskar, Husband of 39 year old woman who died, decided to withdraw his complaint and demanded police to release the actor. He told in his statement on 13 dec, that the crowd went chaotic during the arrival of Allu Arjun and his security team. ‘It was because of the Sandhya Theatre staff and management that the gruesome event occur’. He wasn’t aware of Allu Arjun’s arrest and said it’s not his fault for coming there.

On Dec 5, Allu Arjun came to know about the gruesome incident and shared his heartfelt condolences for Bhaskar’s dead wife and injured son via twitter, He even donated 25 lakh to the grieving family and promised to cover all the medical bills of Bhaskar’s son.

Even though from the statements made by Bhaskar on Allu Arjun’s arrest day, One could argue that it was Sandhya 70mm theatre’s fault for not informing to Chikadpally Police, Hyderabad in advance about Allu Arjun’s arrival, Police claimed the theatre fault for the horrible incident, but it was later found that the Sandhya theatre had indeed wrote a letter to Chikadpally Police for arrangement of Bandobust upon Superstar’s arrival, countering there claim

After the arrest of Allu Arjun, a letter appeared written by Sandhya theatre management to police asking for bandobust upon Superstar Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna arrival, at “Pushpa 2 – The Rule” premier.
“We are screening picture of Mythri Movies PUSHAPA-2, Star caste: Allu Arjun, Rashimika Mandana and other stars on 04-12-2024 at 9.30 PM and on 05-12-2024 at 01.50 AM, 05-50 AM, 09-50 AM and 01-50 pm (i.e One show on 04-12-2024 and on 05-12-2024 – Four shows) and continues the movie regular (sic),” says further in the letter.
